Anyone who’s interested should definitely check it out because there are some amazing vendors! Good luck to everyone!
capturing life // Kristan + Travis = Tristan
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is that I have the opportunity to capture each milestone that comes along in a family’s life. From love to marriage, maternity to new babies and watching them grow up, I get to be behind the scenes, capturing life and making memories for them to keep. This is a huge responsibility and one that I feel honored to be trusted with. Meet Kristan and Travis. They haven’t appeared on my blog before because I first started working with them during my internet hiatus, but nonetheless they are some of my favorite clients and I’ve enjoyed every minute photographing them. This weekend I met with them to record the most recent milestone in their lives: the arrival of their daughter, Tristan. She is such a cutie and is blessed with awesome parents.
Let’s take a look at how a family comes to be, shall we?

keshia & ryan
So, ever since I got Louis II, my Canon 60D, I have been dying to start making short films. If you didn’t know, the 60D is one of the first cameras to offer HD video capabilities (along with a really nifty awesome amazing swivel screen). I’ve never worked with video before but I’m lucky to know a few people who have so I’m looking forward to working with them and learning! So, keep an eye out for some movie action because I’ll be posting some soon! Speaking of. . .
Check out this adorable couple! I got to take Keshia & Ryan’s engagement pictures on Saturday and I had such a great time with them. They are so fun to work with–I can’t wait to do their wedding next June! They were also sweet enough to humor me and take a few motion clips during their photo session. I’ll be using this footage to practice my editing skills this week.
I can’t wait to show you what I come up with! In the meantime, here are some photos.

Check out the picnic basket–one of my lucky finds from a yard sale that I decided to check out while I was waiting on Keshia and Ryan. It totally made my day. $3.
Peace, love, & good-night! xoxo
Let’s Move for Casey! (pt. 2)
Just wanted to share some pictures from the walk yesterday.
Piper is just too cute.
Luke and Allie just found out they are having a baby girl! I am so excited!
Well, good night everyone!
Let’s move for Casey!
I don’t know about you but I’ve been loving the weather lately. Today was a little chillier but this past week has been perfect for walking. I’ve been exploring the streets of Richmond every afternoon this week and I’m loving it more and more here. There’s this awesome little yoga studio right on Main St. and close to my apartment that I went to for the first time yesterday and it was so relaxing. Can’t wait to go again! Other than exploring I’ve spent the past week editing and working at Hastings. I have a bunch of blogs in queue to be posted next week so keep checking in!
This weekend I will be venturing into Middlesboro to see my family and also to attend the Let’s Move for Casey Walk-A-Thon.
Casey was my friend from high school and probably one of the most vivacious people that I have ever have the pleasure to have known. In 2009 she died of a complication from Juvenile Myositis and she was only 19. Each year her family and friends hold Let’s Move for Casey to celebrate her memory and raise money for the Cure JM Foundation, which researches this rare auto-immune disease. If you are in the area you should really come check it out!

blog re-opened: my yellow bird is back! // shalom & jeremy’s wedding
So, here I am again! I know, I’m a bad blogger. But this time around I’m going to keep it active, I swear! How do you like the new layout? I’ve been working on this thing for the past week or two to get it looking snazzy. I still have a few wrinkles to iron out but for the most part, it looks just the way I wanted.
Also, I have a treat for everyone; I really couldn’t have a better thing to blog about for my re-opening. Shalom & Jeremy tied the knot on August 6th and I was so lucky to get to be their photographer! It was seriously the most beautiful & detailed wedding I have ever been to. Everything was perfect! Kudos to Shalom, her parents, and everyone else involved because your hard work really paid off. Not only that, but it was also my first wedding using my new camera! Yes, I am now the proud owner of a Canon 60D. I am so in love with it.
Let us tell you a little story:
It started with a question, an answer . . .
. . . and two people in love!
Oh, yeah, and we can’t forget Corby!
I love this shot so much.
Bridal session. Yes, I love to drag antique chairs into fields. This was sitting in Shalom’s room and I just couldn’t resist.
And her dress? It was stunning too!
It was such a fairy tale. Even the little creatures came out to be a part of it! And it didn’t rain! We were all praying for no rain.
The rockin’ bridesmaids! You girls were so much fun!
The lucky man.
The beautiful bride.
A few of the details. The flowers were stunning. The ring bearer was the sweetest! He held up the sign and announced “Here comes the bride!” So cute! And look at the bridge that they had built just for the occasion! It stretched over the pool of the Amphitheater at Pine Mountain. It was perfect. They might want to consider keeping it there all the time!
Just married! Shalom has some of the best expressions. Her smiles are the best!
The reception! And my favorite detail of all: the candy table. It was awesome.
Their first dance!
There are so many more! Hope you enjoyed this teaser! Best wishes to Shalom & Jeremy for a long and happy marriage. You guys are great!
September 6, 2011 - 1:58 AM - Incredible pictures!! We did not get to attend the wedding, and these pics are so beautiful it makes me sad that we weren't able to!!
I’ve been a bad, bad girl. . .
I’ve been a bad, bad girl. . . at blogging. Seriously, how did I manage to go SIX MONTHS without updating? Wow. Obviously I need to kick this thing up a notch. I think that from now on I will be much more personal and opinionated in my blog. Before I tended to keep a neutral, calm, and professional tone and for all of you out there who know me personally… this really isn’t me. I think that trying to sound like something I wasn’t kept me from really connecting and therefore LOOKING FORWARD to a post, rather than seeing it as just another job to do. So expect to be seeing something different here from now on. Here’s to being real, and trying to be a good blogger.
So, where was I? June? Really. Ok, so my forecast is indicating a major flood of posts updating you on everything I’ve been up to since then. Grab your umbrellas!
Here we have one of my very best friends in the entire world, Brittney!
Over the summer I took some pictures for her and her brothers Dalton and Ethan for their mom’s birthday. Then she had me use them to make a really cute photobook for her Christmas present. The locations are a little cliche (but hey, cliche can still be cute) and of course I made them sit in the water. Muahahaha!
