Sooooooo, I’ve only been back for two days and I miss Nashville so much already. The people are great and the opportunities are limitless. Friday before the fashion show, the beautiful & talented Candi Carpenter and I went on an adventure to get some shots of Truly’s fabulous clothes. We had quite a fun time trekking through mud, attempting to break in to the community pool because the access card wasn’t working, avoiding being charged with indecent exposure, nearly being run over while crossing the highway, and all the while managing to keep the clothes in pristine condition. It was so much fun. Candi and I will definitely be working together again in the future. In fact, we’ve already got an idea for our next shoot. But for now, here’s a sneak peek at what we managed to come up with. I had such a hard time choosing which ones to post.

I love this dress so much. There’s a hippo in it! Look look look! Truly is a creative genius, I swear.

Recently, I was honored to shoot for Truly Alvarenga, my dear friend and a very talented fashion designer in Nashville, Tennessee. Her newest collection was featured in a fashion show during the Weekend: Wonderland at the aVenue this past Friday. It was a great show and I was thrilled and blessed to meet and network with so many fabulous people in the industry: models, stylists, makeup artists and designers. It was great. I had missed Nashville so much and am now seriously considering moving back there. Anyway, have a look at a few of my favorites.

Yesterday evening I met Candace, Travis, and little Saylor to do a mini-session. They are such a laid back and friendly family. And little miss Saylor has quite the personality (and I must say, she’s rather talented at avoiding the camera!) Nonetheless, I think I got some really cute shots. Take a look.

Soooo, just so everyone is aware: I have the coolest boss. Ever. (For those of you who don’t know, I recently took up a part-time job at JCPenney’s Portrait Studio in Turkey Creek). I totally played hooky from work today in order to take pictures of her. Brandy is just starting out with freelance and I’m building her a website. She needed a good photo for her bio page so we decided that a photoventure was in order. I had so much fun today. She is so awesome. Not only is she a cool boss, but she’s become a great friend of mine. We get along so well and I never stop laughing when I’m around her; she’s a blast. Today she found out just what comes along with a photoshoot with me: trekking through tall grass, mud, hopping across creeks and doing just about anything else necessary to get the perfect shot. Haha. Anyway, I’d share more of our adventure but I’m crunched for time at the moment. Here’s Brandy!

Chelsea | Lenoir City High School Senior Photography

Today was very exciting. I met up with Chelsea, my first senior of the class of 2011! (Geez, it makes me feel so old–have I really been out of school that long? ahah.) I had a blast hanging out with her and exploring Knoxville. We both lack a general sense of direction but between the two of us we managed not to get too lost. She is such a sweetheart and so pretty, too. And we were lucky enough to beat the rain that is currently falling but it was so windy! It added to the pictures, though, I think. Here they are!

This is my old friend Valerie. She and I went to school together during the short time that I lived in Nashville, and now circumstances would have it that we both reside in Knoxville. We met up this afternoon for a quick shoot and to catch up (we saw the film Kick Ass afterward, and pigged out on overpriced theatre food, ’twas great. The movie is a decent laugh too). This wasn’t the concept we’d originally had in mind but an uncooperative & cloudy sky caused us to change it up a little. But yes, you will be seeing much more of her. She’s one of my favorite models and a great friend as well. Have a look:

It’s great to finally be getting back into the swing of things. Each day Knoxville is feeling more and more like home to me. I love it. Not to mention there are so many gorgeous locations to shoot at around here. It seems like I stumble upon new ones every day.

Anyway, today I met up with Schylar, a friend from my past, to do her maternity pictures. It was great to catch up and hang out as well as shoot. She is so sweet and laid back and fun to talk to. I will definitely be seeing more of her in the future, as we’ve already planned to do some shots of little Jackson when he gets here in May.

She’s got lips even Angelina Jolie would be jealous of.

She’s got her whole world, in her hands.

I’ve been wanting to do this for years and finally found someone nice awesome crazy enough to let me.
